Joy joined our Patton Veterinary Hospital family as part of the Animal Care team in November, 2015. She is a graduate of Red Lion High School where she showed her school spirit as a varsity
cheerleader. Joy was also an active member of Future Farmers of America and served on her school’s newspaper staff.
Joy says, “My love for animals and veterinary medicine brought me to Patton. Patton allows me to continue learning and to get a head start for college.” She is excited to begin studying to be
a certified veterinary technician this fall as she was accepted into her dream school, Wilson College, after being encouraged by a co-worker to apply. Joy is currently “mom” to three dogs
(Abby, Anya and Pandora) four cats (Pumpkin, Raven, Blackie and The Poo) and to one snake named Lila who was a surprise addition and to which Joy’s mother did not take kindly to at
first!
Joy has diverse interests outside PVH including being an amateur special effects makeup artist, watching scary movies and spending time on the beach with her boyfriend and family whenever she
has some free time.
Joy sums up her philosophy with a quote from her favorite Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling: “Anything is possible if you’ve got enough nerve.” She certainly seems to be on her way to
accomplishing great things and we know she has the nerve to follow her heart and become a certified veterinary technician!
