Huron or, as she prefers to be called, Huey, joined Patton Veterinary Hospital’s Client Relations team in April 2016. She originally hails from Frostburg, MD and graduated from Northern
Garrett High. She is also a graduate of Allegany College of Maryland and has taken some AAHA veterinary management courses. She joined Patton because it is her, “goal in life to help as many
animals as possible live healthier, happier lives. Teaching pet owners is a huge part of this!”
Huey is the owner of a whole clowder of cats, all rescues, with fun names such as S’more and Rupee who are seal-point Siamese cats, Ming, a Sphynx cat and several domestic shorthairs called
Mrs. Bridges, Good Kitty, Hermey, Bebe, Edmond and Cersei. Huey says if she could have any animal as a pet, it would be, “two of everything! I guess I want to be a regular Noah’s Ark!”
When not working or taking care of the cats, Huey enjoys various water sports but is not opposed to down time with a good book or a campfire party with friends. Huey serves on the board of
Mid-Atlantic Ecological Landscapes (MAEscapes) which is a native plant initiative and, as if you couldn’t guess, she also fosters cats for several rescue organizations such as Siamese Rescue
of VA, Heavenly Paws and the SPCA.
Huey loves all kinds of music and listens to anything from the 1940’s through today in all genres. She loves movies but they must have action! action! action!, and she says reading historical
fiction will make her, “forget to take meals!”
As you can see, her varied background, love of animals (especially cats!) and outgoing personality make Huey a great fit for our front staff. We are so happy she joined the Patton family!
