Brittany Jones joined the PVH staff in May 2013 as a technician assistant. Born in Carlisle, she is a graduate of CedarCrestHigh School and currently attends York Technical Institute as a student in their veterinary technician program. Having loved animals her entire life, the choice to pursue a career in the animal care field came naturally.

“When I was little I felt very strongly when an animal was hurt or sick,” she says, recalling the time she helped her mother nurse the family cat as it recovered from a broken leg. “I have a huge passion for animals. I like knowing I can make them feel better.”

With a goal in mind of earning her veterinary technician certification, Brittany is grateful for her family, who always share their love and support. She is also thankful to the PVH doctors, who have offered a fountain of learning material up to and including hands-on procedures.

“The coolest thing is getting to watch all the surgeries,” she says. “The doctors here are awesome. It’s really nice that they can share communication and trust with each other.”

As for the sad times, when a beloved pet has reached the end of its life, Brittany faces the challenge to stay strong and keep her heart open. “If you stop caring when an animal dies . . . that’s when you should let the job go.”
