Shannon

Shannon joined Patton Veterinary Hospital bringing with her a lifetime of experience and a deep love for animals. Growing up in Delta, PA, she was surrounded by a variety of animals—dogs, cats, horses, cows, sheep, and goats—which sparked her passion for veterinary care. Shannon’s career path began at a lesson and boarding horse farm, followed by work at a boarding kennel. Eventually, she transitioned to a veterinary technician role, where she realized that this was the career meant for her.

Shannon shares her home with her beloved Border Collie, Paige, who enjoys playing ball and herding sheep, cats, and chickens. She is also “owned” by two cats: Clover, a Siamese, and Kevin, a black-and-white cat who came into her life as a pregnant stray. After canceling her spay surgery, Kevin gave birth to three adorable kittens. Shannon is also a lifetime member of the Clydesdale Breeders of the USA and has bred, raised, and shown Clydesdales herself. One of her proudest moments was showing her homebred Clydesdales at the World Clydesdale Show in 2018, fulfilling a long-time bucket list dream.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys kayaking with her dog, camping, and traveling to dog-friendly destinations like wineries, beaches, and parks. If she had a free day, she would love to take Paige swimming in a river, lake, or even a dog-friendly pool. One of her future goals is to travel to and tour Scotland.

In 2000, Shannon graduated from Kennard-Dale High School. After moving to Frederick, MD, in 2004, she worked as a veterinary technician at a small animal hospital while continuing to breed, raise, and sell Clydesdale horses. After successfully selling her last home-raised Clydesdale at the National Clydesdale Sale in 2022, Shannon decided to return to York County. She now enjoys reconnecting with family and friends while meeting new people and their pets as part of the PVH team.
