Chelsea

Chelsea hails from Millers, MD and joined Patton Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant in June, 2018. She is a graduate of Millersville University where she majored in English and is currently enrolled in York Technical Institute’s Veterinary Technician program.
Chelsea has always loved animals and wanted a career helping them. She owns several pets including two cats named Betty and Phoebe, a rescue dog named Cooper and two horses: Frosty the Clydesdale and Spy the Thoroughbred. Naturally, Chelsea enjoys riding, training and caring for her horses, but she also aspires to hike the Appalachian Trail one day.
Chelsea says, “When I first graduated high school, I had a job at a polo farm exercising and caring for polo ponies. As I got older, I moved away from jobs around animals, but realized how much I missed handling and working with [them] every day.” This is what inspired her to return to school to earn her veterinary technician certification and she is, “excited to be part of this field and I hope to use my skills and passion to better animals’ lives.”
Chelsea sums up her life’s philosophy with a powerful quote by Vincent Van Gogh, “Your profession is not what brings home your weekly paycheck, your profession is what you’re put her on Earth to do, with such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling.” Chelsea certainly embodies passion and hard work and we are happy to have her as part of the Patton team!
