Staff Appreciation Week

Help Patton Veterinary Hospital Celebrate Staff Appreciation Week

October 16-22 is traditionally celebrated as National Veterinary Technician Week but Patton Veterinary Hospital wants to take this opportunity to thank ALL our staff members. We have such a close-knit team we’re celebrating all our employees during what we’ve deemed staff appreciation week.

Veterinary technicians come in early and stay late; cleaning up, completing last minute treatments for hospital patients and filling pharmacy orders.  They draw blood, take x-rays, vaccinate patients, place IV catheters, trim nails, record patient histories, prep and monitor patients during and after anesthesia and surgery, and care for hospitalized pets.  They celebrate and show off new puppies and kittens and they share the sorrow with our clients when it is time for a pet to cross the rainbow bridge.  Veterinary technicians represent the heart and soul of the veterinary field and are an integral part of the veterinary team.  We could not do things half as well without their help.

Veterinary assistants work hard.  They arrive early to get things ready-- stocking rooms, completing labs and assisting technicians in drawing blood and performing treatments. No doubt they play an important role in aiding the entire team.

Client relations members are often the first members of our team to interact with clients. Offering a friendly voice on the phone and a friendly face at the front desk, they help field and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, get clients checked in and checked out and copy records. They also are there to offer a sympathetic ear when a pet is sick, fuss over a new fur baby and make a pet comfortable on his or her last visit. Their contributions are so important to making the hospital run smoothly.

The animal care team cares for our boarding patients making sure they are clean, comfortable and well fed while in our care. They play an important role in assisting our technicians with various tasks and taking hospital and surgery patients out for bathroom breaks. They play such an important role in the day to day functions of the hospital and they are working 7 days a week to care for your pets.

Our office staff run the show behind the scenes. They do all the little tasks that play a big part in running a business—billing, ordering supplies, offering financial solutions, making sure we don’t run out of medications, offering an encouragement to employees and listening to clients’ concerns and more!

And, finally, our veterinarians see patients for well visits and examine patients who are sick, perform surgery, interpret lab results and radiographs, administer vaccinations, care for hospitalized patients and call or text clients to answer questions and concerns. They provide their knowledge, expertise and compassion to treat your pets and keep them as healthy as possible throughout their lives. Their dedication is to upholding the veterinary oath which reads,

Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health and welfare, the prevention and relief of animal suffering, the conservation of animal resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge.

I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.

I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.”

So, join us as we celebrate not just veterinary technicians but all members of our dedicated veterinary team. We have a truly remarkable team, and they deserve our thanks and gratitude this week and every week for a job well done!

From all the Patton doctors and staff, thank you to all our veterinary technicians!
