Why Choose Certified Cat Friendly Practice

PATTON VETERINARY HOSPITAL IS A CERTIFIED CAT FRIENDLY PRACTICE

Patton Veterinary Hospital has made numerous changes over the past several years to become feline friendly. These changes have allowed us to become a Silver Status Cat Friendly Practice! This means that whether your cat is visiting PVH for a routine wellness exam or he is feeling under the weather, our staff is committed to ensuring that your cat receives the highest quality care.

Patton’s Cat Hospital is the newest addition to the hospital and features three new feline friendly exam rooms, a feline only treatment center and a quiet and peaceful lobby so your feline friend does not have to be around all of those rambunctious dogs! We look forward to seeing your cat for his next appointment in our new cat hospital!

Your cat deserves to be cared for in a certified Cat Friendly Practice and when we heard about the program, we knew it was time to take a look at the practice and determine what we could do to make veterinary visits easier and more positive for cats and their owners. The Cat Friendly Practice program provides a framework for creating a positive experience and environment for cats, including medical care that supports the unique needs of cats and knowledgeable staff members who truly understand feline friendly care and handling.

Patton Veterinary Hospital has made many changes over the years to make your cat more comfortable during his examination including:

  • Use of Feliway (cat specific pheromone) to calm and soothe cats
  • Taking cats and clients directly exam rooms
  • New vaccination protocols for felines including the Purevax rabies vaccine and a 3-year CPR vaccine
  • Use of feline friendly pain medications and sedatives for the painful or scared cat
  • Practice-wide continuing education specific to felines
  • Use of towels, yoga mats, catnip and treats in exam rooms

The staff at Patton Veterinary Hospital will help to provide you with various ways to enhance your cat’s health and well-being. By advising you on your feline friend’s unique needs in areas such as nutrition, routine preventive care, environmental enrichment, behavior and other essential issues, your Feline Friendly team at PVH can help your cat to be happy and healthy.
