Rebecka joined Patton Veterinary Hospital in February, 2019 as a veterinary assistant. She comes to us from Hanover, PA and is a graduate of South Western High School and is currently enrolled in York Technical Institute’s veterinary technician program. Like most people in the veterinary field, she has pets: Rebecka and her family rescued two cats named Pookie and Bear.
Rebecka states her reason for choosing veterinary medicine as a career choice being that she has “always loved animals and…wanted to get into the medicine field. Veterinary assistant is the perfect combo!” She says she specifically chose to join the Patton team because, “They offered me an exciting opportunity to grow as a vet assistant….They show every day their love of animals, and that stood out to me!”
Rebecka’s big goal is to become a vet tech and she is already working toward that dream, but she also would love to travel, especially to Cheyenne, WY to see a rodeo someday! When not at work, Rebecka enjoys knitting and crochet, playing guitar, singing and enjoying the outdoors. Her personal philosophy comes from a quote by American Poet, Robert Frost: “Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself.” Wise words to follow! We are proud to have Rebecka on our crew and to help her to define herself and attain her goal of becoming a veterinary technician.
