Patton's Cat Hospital is Officially Open!

Patton's Cat Hospital is Ready to Cater to Your Cats!

I know this probably is not news at this point, but Patton Veterinary Hospital is pleased to announce that our new feline area is now open for business!  We have already seen several patients in the new wing with paws-up reviews!

Patton’s Cat Hospital features a quiet, dog-free waiting area with a fountain and soothing music to create a Zen-like area for cats.  We also have a coffee bar and water cooler for thirsty humans.  There are Feliway pheromone diffusers in each of the three exam rooms, non-slip mats on the tables and “hideaway” areas in the exam room cabinets.  Perches in the rooms entice more inquisitive cats, and we try to offer catnip and treats to our healthy patients.

The cat wing features a small feline-only treatment area just beyond the exam rooms for drawing blood, administering subcutaneous fluids and performing other minor procedures.  Emergencies, surgery patients and cats that are very ill will still be treated or hospitalized in our main building.

A client relations staff member or a nurse will be able to complete your billing and check out in the exam room so you do not have to wait in the main lobby where loud noises and curious canines can increase stress.  Once your check out is complete, you can exit with your kitty and be on your way.

We are still working out some kinks in the schedule and doing some minor construction, so bear with us as we complete our feline area.  Let us know what you like and don't like--we want it to be an enjoyable place for you and your kitties!

We are planning to host an open house in April, but if you are interested in a tour of the cat hospital, just ask a staff member and we will be happy to show you around.  We do ask that no dogs enter the cat area.  If you have your dog with you and would still like a short tour, we may be able to entertain your pooch for a few minutes as you walk through the feline ward.

As a certified Feline Friendly Practice, we are excited to provide this new area for our feline patients.  We hope cat owners will enjoy the new wing and that it makes bringing your kitty a little less stressful.  We are looking forward to seeing you and your cats soon!

For more Feline Friendly Fun, check out our upcoming Kids Club meeting February 1st, 2PM which will be all about cats!
