Hello, Everyone!  Patton Veterinary Hospital has recently updated its website, and I am planning to post a weekly blog to provide information about pet health, frequently asked questions, interesting cases and other informative and entertaining information about pets and about PVH.

Who am I, you ask?  I am Dr. Sabrina Walters, long-time associate veterinarian (14 years to be exact!) at Patton.  It has been my privilege and pleasure to work for Dr. Doug Schmidt and his family as well as other associates for such a long time in the Red Lion community.  I had wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I can remember and it has always been a joy and a source of pride that I was able to follow through and turn my lifelong passion for animals and medicine into a fulfilling career.  Although all of us at Patton have been practicing for varying amounts of time, from 20+ year veterans to just out of school, we all still see and learn new things every day.  This is what keeps our profession new and challenging, with rarely a dull moment!  All of us love working with animals and their two-legged keepers to provide the best possible health care for pets throughout their lives.

Our pets give us unconditional love and keep us both humble and human.  They cause our hearts to soar with joy when they are happy and healthy, and to break with sorrow when the time comes for them to leave us and cross the Rainbow Bridge.  They teach so much without being able to say a word.  The human-animal bond is a strong and sacred one indeed.  Join us in exploring this bond and how to keep it strong.

Feel free to comment on our posts, share them with friends and suggest topics for the blog, but, remember if you have specific medical questions about your pet, please call the Patton Veterinary office directly so that you receive proper, individualized attention and so your pet can get the care he or she needs.
